Must be the season of the witch...
The CW drama, in association with Netflix, is bringing back the famous teenage witch for one more ratings boost.
Following on from her eagerly-anticipated appearance earlier this season, Sabrina Spellman will once again return for more toil and trouble in 'Riverdale' season six.
Kiernan Shipka's darker take on the teenage witch (previously portrayed by Melissa Joan Hart in the '90s sitcom) helmed her own four seasons on Netflix with 'The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina'. After the questionable season finale in 2020, the character reprised her role in the teenage drama set in the same Archie Comics universe, the town next to Greendale, 'Riverdale'.
Four episodes into season six of the hot-blooded teen drama brought Spellman back to our screens, appearing to Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) in order to complete a problematic spell that she was conjuring.
Shipka reappearing as the famed witch doesn't really make a whole lot of sense, especially considering 'CAOS' final episode, but this is teen drama so it's best to just go with it and not ask too many taxing questions.
The character will be back one more time before season six concludes, which was revealed during the 'Riverdale' PaleyFest panel in LA this past weekend. Now that the series has become increasingly supernatural, Sabrina Spellman will more than likely reappear in 'Riverdale' to help calm the whole "Cheryl possessed by an evil spirit" storyline.
Other news for 'Riverdale' fans this season includes a forthcoming musical episode once again. This time around, it'll be the turn of the 'American Psycho' musical, based on the infamous serial killer Patrick Bateman.
Shipka will next star in 'The White House Plumbers' for HBO later this year, a mini-series based on what happened within the White House during President Nixon's reign. Also starring in the political dramedy from 'Veep' creators are Domhnall Gleeson, Woody Harrelson, Justin Theroux and Lena Headey.
The final two episodes of 'Riverdale' season six will be available to stream on Netflix on April 18 and April 25.
