Based on the making of her debut album 'Sour'
Whether you call yourself an "Olive" or a "Rodrighoe", chances are you'll be excited about this new Disney+ release.
Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Olivia Rodrigo has her own documentary headed to Disney+, hitting the streaming service next month.
It's been quite a whirlwind year for the 18-year-old (who turns 19 this weekend), following the release of her debut album in 2021 'Sour'. Her initial single release 'Driver's License' in January of the same year first catapulted her into the spotlight, garnering number one spots in music charts across the world, including here in Ireland.
Her upcoming documentary film, titled 'Olivia Rodrigo: driving home 2 u', will be a look back at the making of her album and the build-up towards its release in May, 2021.
In the teaser trailer released for the documentary, the pop star takes a familiar road trip from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles. Along the way, Rodrigo recounts the memories of writing and creating her record-breaking debut album and shares her feelings as a young woman navigating a specific time in her life.
Through new live arrangements of her songs, intimate interviews and never-before-seen footage from the making of the album, audiences will follow Rodrigo along on a cinematic journey exploring the story of 'Sour'.
Fans of the star will know that this isn't the first time Rodrigo will star in a Disney+ production. She also stars and sings in the rebooted 'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' as Nini. The series was renewed for a third season, set to arrive later this year.
Here's the teaser for the Olivia Rodrigo documentary.
'Olivia Rodrigo: driving home 2 u' will be available to stream on Disney+ from March 25.
