May The Fourth be with you. And you, and you...
Yep, today's the day that 'Star Wars' fans have been waiting for, and the first of what we hope will be a string of fresh announcements has been released.
Disney+'s forthcoming limited series 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' has unleashed a new trailer to the masses this May The Fourth (be with you), teasing the return of Darth Vadar (but still giving us nothing in the shape of actually showing him on screen).
The highly-anticipated series sees Ewan McGregor return as the titular Jedi knight, continuing an untold story which takes place between the events of 'Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith' and 'Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope'.
The story begins 10 years after the events of the third film, where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat. Anakin Skywalker, his best friend and former Jedi apprentice, infamously turned to the dark side as the evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. Hayden Christensen returns to the series as Skywalker, this time (hopefully) truly encapsulating one of the most well-known baddies ever created on screen ("Noooooooooooooooo").
Joining the cast are Moses Ingram ('The Queen's Gambit') as Inquisitor Reva; Joel Edgerton ('Bright') and Bonnie Piesse ('Revenge of the Sith') as Owen and Beru Lars; Rupert Friend as The Grand Inquisitor; Sung Kang ('Fast & Furious' franchise) as Fifth Brother; with Kumail Nanjiani ('The Eternals') in an undisclosed role.
Here's the new 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' trailer.
Two episodes will drop on launch day later this month, and then following the premiere on Friday, the series will then switch to streaming weekly on Wednesdays, running until the finale on Wednesday, June 22.
This is the first reveal on this 'Star Wars' Day, so hopefully, we'll get some more exciting announcements later today. 'The Mandalorian' season three release date perhaps?
The six-part limited series from Lucasfilm launches exclusively on Disney+ Friday, May 27.
