The opening scene of the upcoming series has been posted on Twitter and, yeah, think the final 10 minutes of Stephen King's horror classic and you're on the right track. The series, which was filmed down in Limerick's Troy Studios, sees a group of scientists trapped aboard a spaceship on the edge of our solar system who slowly go insane.
The novella, which was written by George RR Martin (yes, 'Game of Thrones' guy), was adapted into a movie in 1987 that starred James Avery (yes, Uncle Phil from 'Fresh Prince of Bel-Air). This time around, the casts includes Angus Sampson from 'Fargo', our own Eoin Macken and BrÃan F. O'Byrne, and Gretchen Mol from 'Boardwalk Empire'.
'Nightflyers' will first air on SyFy from December 1st and then hit Netflix shortly thereafter, but for now, here's a taste of what to expect.
Keep in mind, this is the opening scene. And it's... yeah, it's bloody. Take a look.
