It's all very Hitchcockian
Jesse Plemons, Lily Collins and Jason Segal all star in the upcoming thriller.
The plot of the movie follows a tech billionaire (Plemons) and his wife (Collins). The couple arrive at their idyllic vacation home only to find it's being robbed by a man (Segal).
The movie, described as a "taut psychological thriller" is directed by Charlie McDowell. The director is known for films such as 'The One I Love' and 'The Discovery', which also starred Segal.
The script was written by Justin Lader and Andrew Kevin Walker and was based on a story by Segal.
"For me, what I thought was interesting about this particular story coming out of this moment in time was feeling imprisoned to your own home, to your own space," McDowell said to Entertainment Weekly.
"We've always pictured our home and our place as the safe haven to the outside world. And what I was interested in telling was a story where, what if that space gets invaded and doesn't feel safe anymore?"
Collins, who is married to McDowell, was not originally involved in the film, but was eventually cast.
"He made me sweat for a little while," said the 'Emily in Paris' star. "I didn't know if I was going to be involved, and honestly, it was not written for me, so it was definitely a part that they conceptualized and then treated it as such in terms of me being an actress that was vying for a role."
'Windfall' arrives on Netflix March 18. Watch the full trailer below.
