"None of us will have any peace, 'til there are no monsters left in the world"
Geralt of Rivia is back in the saddle for another season to fight some ghouls, ghosts and whatever that big bat thing is.
The trailer reveals some more plotlines for this upcoming season. Geralt (Henry Cavill) and Ciri (Freya Allan) travel to Kaer Morhen, the witcher stronghold, to provide the young princess with training. All of this will be under the watchful eye of Vesemir (Kim Bodnia) and a gang of fellow witchers.
Elsewhere, there seems to be an impending continental war about to unfold and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) is caught in the middle. Something tells me her and Geralt may cross paths at some point.
One of the complaints of the maiden season was that there simply wasn't enough monsters. If the trailer is anything to go by, we won't have that complaint this time around. We see Geralt go toe-to-toe with a bruxa (a type of vampire). That monster may or may not also transform into that giant bat we see in the same scene. Ciri also seems up for the fight as they take on a leshen (a woodland spirit) in the forest.
Filming of the second season was interrupted twice due to the pandemic.
'The Witcher' season 2 will stream on Netflix on December 17th.
