Despite it being not very good, 'Murder Mystery' was one of Netflix's most successful original movies.
If you happened to one of the few people who actually liked 'Murder Mystery', you're in luck - a sequel is now underway at Netflix, according to a report by THR.
The comedy-caper, starring Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler, saw the duo attempt to solve a murder during their European vacation after they end up on a billionaire's yacht, played by Luke Evans.
Although Netflix doesn't publish stats for its original movies, nor is there any way of verifying it, they claimed that a total of 31 million households watched the movie on the first 72 hours of its arrival on Netflix. By this statistic, it was Netflix's most successful original movie.
It's not yet known if Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler are set to return, as Aniston is currently lined up for 'The Morning Show', a new series on rival streaming service Apple+. That said, screenwriter James Vanderbilt is set to develop a new script and given how Netflix is keen to keep audiences, they might be able to entice both Aniston and Sandler back.
'Murder Mystery' is currently available on Netflix.
