The Omar Sy-led series has been a huge success
The thrilling five-parter has been crowned the most-watched French series on the streamer.
'Lupin' is set to continue smashing Netflix records after only being on the streaming service since January 8.
Starring Omar Sy ('The Untouchables', 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'), the crime/thriller sees him play a professional thief who is hell-bent on getting revenge on Pellegrini family who framed his deceased father for a crime he didn't commit.
The French entry, based on the character Arsène Lupin created by Maurice Leblanc, has hit an impressive global standard since its release. According to Deadline, over 70 million households worldwide are projected to watch the miniseries during its first 28 days - a massive accomplishment for a non-English series in particular.
When you factor in the likes of 'Bridgerton' and 'The Queen’s Gambit', (which are both projected to be viewed 63 million and 62, respectively), which have both been grabbing headlines the past number of months, it's an incredible feat.
The series launched at number one in countries around the world such as Vietnam, Brazil, Spain, Germany, and Sweden. 'Lupin' also became the first French series to land on Netflix's Top 10 list of most-watched titles over in the States.
In Ireland, the series has been in the Top 10 list since launch, with it currently placed at number four in our most-watched titles.
The news of a French TV series topping Netflix's most-watched list comes just months after the streamer launched their own linear TV channel in the country. A country which has one of the biggest pool of linear TV-viewers, it is currently the only country in the world where the company is running this experiment.
