We're definitely going to cry, aren't we?
Looking for a cutesy adventure about a group of toys working together to make it home? Then this new Netflix release should be exactly what you're looking for.
The trailer for 'Lost Ollie' has dropped and honestly, we can't wait to see how this one turns out. Well, we can guess how it's going to go, but we're here for what looks to be an incredibly heartwarming journey as one toy tries to make it home. We're getting strong 'Toy Story' and 'Homeward Bound' vibes from this.
Blending live-action and animation together, the Netflix series sees a young boy's favourite toy somehow get lost, with the titular character then attempting to make his way safely back into the arms of his owner and best friend, Billy.
Inspired by the book 'Ollie’s Odyssey' by renowned author and illustrator William Joyce, whose books were also created into various animated films including 'Rise of the Guardians' and 'Epic', the series launches on Netflix later this month. This new live-action family series has been in the works for four years.
Jonathan Groff ('Looking'), Mary J. Blige ('The Umbrella Academy') and Tim Blake Nelson ('O Brother, Where Art Thou?') will voice the three toys that feature in the trailer below - Ollie, Rosy and Zozo. Gina Rodriguez ('Annihilation'), Jake Johnson ('New Girl') and Kesler Talbot will play the family who loses Billy's toy.
The limited series has a strong team behind the camera and has been directed by Peter Ramsey ('Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse'), created by Shannon Tindle ('Coraline') and executive produced by Shawn Levy ('Free Guy') and Josh S. Barry ('I Am Not Okay With This'). Industrial Light & Magic, founded by George Lucas, created the wonderful animation for the release.
