The former host of 'The Daily Show' is going to Apple TV+.
After leaving political comedy TV shows behind right when he was needed the most, Jon Stewart has returned to the format after just six years away from it all.
'The Problem' was announced via Jon Stewart's Twitter account today, showing the comedian suiting up like he was always did - except now, of course, he's aged several years and has a beard, bemoaning this and pointing out that he could have done a podcast instead. Jon, please, there are enough podcasts in this world. You don't need to be adding to it.
Although, funnily enough, Apple have announced that each episode will also have a companion podcast. Anyway, 'The Problem' is already slated for multiple seasons, and each episode will take in one topic and focus on that. No doubt that John Oliver's 'Last Week Tonight' has had an influence on all of this, given how the show has routinely pushed some pretty complex ideas to the forefront with comedy and intelligence.
No exact airdate has been confirmed as of yet, but it's understood that the show will begin streaming on Apple TV+ from September of this year.
In the meantime, here's the teaser.
