Evan Peters is the unhinged serial killer

The trailer for Ryan Murphy's latest miniseries dropped at the weekend, just days before it hits Netflix.

Just like a person who you discover has an appetite for human flesh, the Jeffrey Dahmer series has come out of nowhere to surprise us all. A trailer dropped over the weekend and a release date has been set on Netflix for later this week.

'DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story' will be a 10-episode miniseries from 'American Horror Story' creator Ryan Murphy which brings the infamous serial killer's heinous story to the small screen.

Between 1978 and 1991, the man who was known as The Milwaukee Cannibal or The Milwaukee Monster gruesomely took the lives of seventeen innocent victims - all of whom were men or younger boys. The sick individual not only lured these unsuspecting victims to their slaughter, but he also indulged in cannibalism, necrophilia and keeping the remains, preserving them for who knows what reason. He did all of this in plain sight for well over a decade.

Evan Peters of 'AHS' and 'Mare of Easttown' fame will play the man in question. The synopsis of the series reads: 'DAHMER' will expose these unconscionable crimes, centred around the underserved victims and their communities impacted by the systemic racism and institutional failures of the police that allowed one of America’s most notorious serial killers to continue his murderous spree in plain sight for over a decade."

Also part of the cast will be Richard Jenkins ('Step Brothers') and Molly Ringwald ('The Breakfast Club') as Jeffrey's father and stepmother Lionel and Shari; Michael Learned ('The Waltons') as his grandmother Catherine; and Niecy Nash ('Selma') as his suspicious neighbour Glenda Cleveland.

Here's the trailer for the Jeffrey Dahmer series.

Stream 'DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story' this Wednesday, September 21 on Netflix.
