Are you thirsty for more 'Home Alone' this winter?
Disney is promising to unleash "comedic mayhem" this winter, with the arrival of the next 'Home Alone' entry in the series.
Titled 'Home Sweet Home Alone', the family movie will be getting a premiere date of November 12 on Disney+.
Directed by Dan Mazer ('Dirty Grandpa'), the comedy sequel/reboot will see Archie Yates ('Jojo Rabbit') take on the role of the young kid named Max who gets left all alone during the holidays. The jury is out on how good the movie will be, but here's hoping it's more along the lines of the first two 'Home Alone' movies rather than the third or fourth effort.
Ellie Kemper ('Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt') and Rob Delaney ('Catastrophe') will be playing the parents who accidentally abandon their son at home. It's unclear who will be playing the Harry and Marv of the movie, but there's quite an impressive supporting cast that has us excited. The one and only Aisling Bea ('This Way Up') stars alongside Kenan Thompson ('Saturday Night Live'), Tim Simons ('Veep'), Pete Holmes ('The Secret Life of Pets 2'), Ally Maki ('Toy Story 4'), Chris Parnell ('Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues').
Disney released some home-shot images of the cast, which also features Devin Ratray - who played Kevin's older brother Buzz in the original movies.
The official synopsis for the movie is as follows: "Max Mercer is a mischievous and resourceful young boy who has been left behind while his family is in Japan for the holidays. So when a married couple attempting to retrieve a priceless heirloom set their sights on the Mercer family’s home, it is up to Max to protect it from the trespassers…and he will do whatever it takes to keep them out. Hilarious hijinks of epic proportions ensue, but despite the absolute chaos, Max comes to realize that there really is no place like home sweet home."
'Home Sweet Home Alone' hits Disney+ on November 12, 2021.
