More Tinseltown on the way?
Although it was originally billed as a limited series by Netflix, there could be more of 'Hollywood' on the way to the streaming service.
The what-if drama series, which takes place in a highly fictionalised version of Hollywood, landed on Netflix last week and has received very mixed reviews - some loving it, some hating it. However, that's more or less what you'd expect with something from Ryan Murphy.
In a recent Instagram Q&A, Murphy was asked flat-out by if a second season is on the way. While admitting that it was planned as a limited series, "it's become so popular that everyone is asking for another season. So who knows? I sure do love this cast though."
Netflix signed Ryan Murphy for a $300 million deal in 2018, which included a total of 10 projects - four TV shows, three movies, and three documentaries. So far, he's come through with 'The Politician', 'Pose', 'Hollywood' obviously, and documentaries like 'A Secret Love' and 'The Prom'.
Not only that, Netflix rarely pays attention to critics reviews and instead bases their decisions off of viewing figures - meaning if the audience is there for another season of 'Hollywood', you could well end up seeing it pretty soon.
