The horror series' next instalment is on track for release this year
The follow-up to 2018's smash horror hit on Netflix 'The Haunting of Hill House' is still on track to be released later this year, according to series creator Mike Flanagan.
'The Haunting of Bly Manor' will see the filmmaker make a departure from the Crain family of season one, and will see the new series focus on a different family who are haunted by another ghostly presence.
Created by Mike Flanagan, who has become one of the most exciting horror and thriller minds in recent years (see 'Gerald's Game'), the first series was based on the gothic horror novel of the same name by Shirley Jackson. We liked it so much here at entertainment.ie that we crowned it as the best TV series of 2018. So, no pressure 'Bly Manor', but you better be good.
Replying to a fan's enquiry on Twitter, the filmmaker said that post-production on season two was: "Going great. Still on schedule, we wrapped before the shutdown and post production has carrying on from home. The show is shaping up wonderfully, I'm thrilled with it."
But as to when we'll likely see 'Bly Manor', it'll likely come towards the end of 2020. He said: "At the moment no reason to think it'll be pushed. Netflix will announce the release date when they're ready."

The second instalment of 'The Haunting of' series luckily wrapped filming back in February. 'The Haunting of Bly Manor' will be inspired by 'The Turn of the Screw' horror novella by author Henry James, and will see a fresh new family be haunted by the paranormal.
Interestingly, the book was the inspiration for another movie that released earlier this year, 'The Turning', but according to reviews, the less said about that the better. Hopefully, the next Mike Flanagan entry will have us sleeping with the light on all over again later this year.
We placed 'The Haunting of Bly Manor' on our list of 20 top TV shows heading our way this year that we can all look forward to.
