It marks the beginning of the end for the Netflix sitcom
Fans of the series will be delighted to hear that they can binge on the first part of the final season on Netflix from today.
There's some good news and some bad news for 'Grace and Frankie' fans today. The good news: four new episodes of season seven have hit Netflix today, completely out of the blue. The bad news: it's the final season, with the rest of the episodes not arriving until 2022.
The buddy comedy starring Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda released the news today via Netflix on social media. Both of the acclaimed actors recorded a promotional video to go alongside their surprise drop, joking: "We've missed you. But more importantly, you've missed us."
Just like their TV counterparts, the pair begin to bicker like the best of friends that they are while delivering the news. Jane tells their fans: "But don't worry, there's plenty more to come. We just wanted to give you something special until we finish the rest of the season."
With four episodes down, there are now 12 more to be released of 'Grace and Frankie' season seven in 2022. The series was cancelled by Netflix back in 2019, however, it will still go down in history as the longest-running Netflix Original yet. In total, there will be 94 episodes of the sitcom when. it finishes production.
Martin Sheen, Sam Waterston, June Diane Raphael and the rest of the supporting cast will return to reprise their roles for 'Grace and Frankie' season seven, with Marta Kauffman and Howard J. Morris also back as showrunners.
