'The Mandalorian' spin-off is already filming
The finale to 'The Mandalorian' (spoilers follow, if you haven't seen it yet) dropped last weekend. Fans were over the moon when it was followed by a teaser for 'The Book of Boba Fett'.
A post credits scene for the season 2 finale saw Boba (Temuera Morrison) take the throne from Bib Fortuna, Jabba’s the Hutt's old right-hand man, with the help of Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen). The title card after the scene read: "The Book of Boba Fett … Coming December 2021"
Social posts yesterday confirmed that 'The Book...' will indeed come to Disney+ this time next year.
Morrison (who also played Boba's father Jango Fett in the 'Star Wars' prequels) and Wen will return and headline the series.
Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni and Robert Rodriguez, who were all involved in 'The Mandalorian', will exec produce.

Little other information has been given other than that the spin-off is set within the timeline of 'The Mandalorian'.
In an appearance on Good Morning America, Favreau revealed that the show is already filming.
He also confirmed that the series is completely separate to 'The Mandalorian' season 3 (since some fans had speculated that 'The Book...' was a subtitle for the show's next season). It will enter production shortly after 'The Book of Boba Fett' and is also set for release December 2021.
'The Book of Boba Fett' was not announced as part of Disney's investor presentation last week, during which they announced a slew of new projects, including several 'Star Wars' productions, as Favreau wanted to keep it a secret.
It is the eleventh known 'Star Wars' project announced by Disney+. Others include 'Ahsoka' and 'Rangers of the New Republic', two other offshoots of 'The Mandalorian' also being produced by Favreau and Filoni.
There's also the Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series starring Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen; and series focused on the characters Cassian Andor and Lando Carlissian. Taika Waititi and Patty Jenkins are also helming 'Star Wars' feature films.
