A new documentary exploring Britney Spears' controversial conservatorship is about to arrive on Netflix.

'Britney VS Spears' streams from next week.

It is directed by Erin Lee Carr, whose previous works include 'How to Fix a Drug Scandal' and 'I Love You, Now Die: The Commonwealth v. Michelle Carter.'

Spears' conservatorship case goes as far back as 200. It gained increased publicity when the documentary 'Framing Britney Spears' debuted last February.

The conservatorship sees the singer's father, James Spears, take full management of the singer's person and career.

There have been public outcries over concerns for Britney's health and independence with the #FreeBritney movement gaining increased moment.

In the latest development on the case, Jamie Spears filed documents to end his conservatorship over his daughter.

Per the Netflix synopsis: "Britney vs Spears tells the explosive story of Britney’s life and her public and private search for freedom.

"Featuring years-long investigative work, exclusive interviews and new documents, this Netflix feature film paints a thorough portrait of the pop star’s trajectory from girl next door to a woman trapped by fame and family and her own legal status.

"Text messages and a voicemail as well as new interviews with key players make clear what Britney herself has attested: the full story has yet to be told."

The doc is 94 minutes long and streams on Netflix from next Tuesday, 28 September.
