Love might be blind but it's not binding

They may have proved that love can be blind, but the "ultimate test" has clearly failed since every last one of the 'Love Is Blind' couples from season two have gone their separate ways. Two of the married couples from the series announced their separations over the weekend.

Cast your mind back to 'Love Is Blind' season two. There was Kyle and Shaina who famously had a breakup during filming. Abhishek ‘Shake’ and Deepti made it to the alter, but Deepti refused to say 'I do' to someone who wasn't sure about how great she is.

Shayne and Natalie broke hearts at the alter when Natalie couldn't go through with the marriage. Salvador and Mallory also agreed not to get married that day.

Then there were the couples that did get married; they both said 'I do' at the top of those god-awful wedding sets; Jarrette and Iyanna, and Nick and Danielle.

Filming allegedly went on from April to June in 2021 and just over a year later, the couples who had managed to stay together between now and then have called it quits. Both Jarrette and Iyanna, and Nick and Danielle announced their respective separations last week.

In a joint statement shared on their Instagram pages, Jarrette and Iyanna announced that they would be initiating the process of their divorce. They wrote, "While we have love for each other, our lives are going in different directions, and that's okay".

Following their statements, on Sunday E! News reported that legal records show that Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson have filed for divorce. Unlike their 'Love Is Blind' counterparts, they have not made any statements online regarding the news.

Season one has a much better success rate however (though it wouldn't be hard), with Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton, and Amber Pike and Matt Barnett still going strong in their relationships. Do you think lasting love can truly be blind?
