Well, here's one we didn't see coming; Cher has confirmed that she has recorded guest vocals for the forthcoming Wu-Tang Clan album Once Upon A Time in Shaolin - but there's a chance that you'll never get to hear it.

Once Upon A Time in Shaolin, a 31-track double album and the band's first since 2007's 8 Diagrams, will be pressed into one solitary copy to be sold at auction to the highest bidder. Before it goes on the auction block, however, it'll undergo a tour of galleries and universities around the globe.

As for the Cher track, the singer is understood to have recorded her vocal tracks in isolation away from the rest of the Wu-Tang crew and that there was no "interaction" between the two parties, according to a spokesperson who was quoted by Rolling Stone.

Meanwhile, a short sample of Once Upon a Time in Shaolin has made its way online at the end of which you can hear a brief segment of Cher's vocal contributions - perhaps the only taster you'll get of the record, depending on what the auction winner decides to do with the record once it's in his or her possession.
