These are the questions everyone's been asking

Now firmly established as Ireland's biggest music festival, this year will see the 17th edition of Electric Picnic set up camp in the grounds of Stradbally House in Co. Laois.

There are a few major changes in store this year, not least the increased capacity and merging of areas.

Here's everything we know about EP 2020 so far:

When is it on? This year's festival runs from September 4th – 6th.

Who's playing and when is the line-up revealed? So far, the only name announced has been rap-metal stalwarts Rage Against the Machine. The full line-up will be revealed on the festival's official launch date, Wednesday March 11th.

Okay, who's rumoured to be playing? Now, that's a different story. In the past, EP has shared some acts with the likes of the UK's End of the Road festival – but as EP moves towards a more mainstream line-up, that hasn't really been the case in recent years. Instead, we can look at the Reading and Leeds festivals, which take place the week before EP (and which RATM are also headlining). With these touring acts in the neighbourhood, we could see the likes of Stormzy, Liam Gallagher, and Migos on the bill. You can also expect the likes of Slowthai and Sam Fender in there, while one of the wackiest rumours doing the rounds is Miley Cyrus. Not beyond the realms of possibility.

What changes are afoot for 2020? Quite a few, actually. The biggest one is that the Body & Soul area will be no more. It's reportedly being merged with the Mindfield area for 'Body & Mind'. The capacity is also being increased from 60,000 to 70,000 and the arena itself will be extended. What does that mean for festival-goers? Well, it'll take you longer to walk to wherever you want to go, for starters.

*

Are there any tickets left? No, they sold out in less than three hours.

*

So I really can't go without a ticket? Not unless you sign up to the Tour de Picnic (17km run or 80km cycle) for charity. There's a registration fee involved, and you must raise €450 in sponsorship on top of that.
