Never ones to miss a good benefit concert, U2 made their first live appearance in three years as part of a Help Haiti benefit concert in Beverley Hills organised by actor Sean Penn.
The brief set that Bono and the lads churned out boasted a succession of hits, including 'I Will Follow', 'Vertigo' and 'Desire' according to a report by Billboard. Bono and The Edge also performed a pared-back version of Leonard Cohen's iconic 'Hallelujah' with native Haitian singer Anaelle Jean Pierre.
U2 capped a pretty successful weekend by winning the Golden Globe for Best Original Song for 'Ordinary Love' which was featured on the Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom soundtrack.
The band look set to release a new album in the next few months - a follow-up to 2009's No Line On The Horizon - after reportedly recording with famed producer Danger Mouse and, rather interestingly (and allegedly), Chris Martin from Coldplay in Electric Lady studios in New York City. We await further news of this with baited breath, so we do.
