If you happened to catch the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea yesterday, you may have caught a guitar prodigy strutting his stuff.
13-year-old Yang Tae-hwan absolutely stole the show as he shredded a thoroughly modern guitar solo to 'Winter' from Vivaldi's Four Seasons. Let's just say that faces were, indeed, melted.
The youngster may look like an unlikely guitar hero, but his performance had everyone talking on social media.
See a clip of his performance (and the reaction) below:
Best part of the @Olympics? Easy. Yang Tae-hwan. You know, the 13 year old guitarist who played a part of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, written for four violins, on one electric guitar. You know, something written for 40 fingers, but played with 10. Ok, cool. 😳 #NOTHUMAN pic.twitter.com/GWKXao27vZ

The entire closing ceremony of the #OlympicGames2018 could’ve been that 13 year old toddler shredding on the guitar and I’d of watched for hours.

Unfortunately, some reports have suggested that the youngster was, in fact, playing to a backing track; understandable, given the nature of the gig.
Still, his downright bad-ass-ness should not be discounted...
