Dave Grohl has become such an intrinsic part of the fabric of rock music over the last two decades with Foo Fighters that you sometimes have to remind yourself that he was in Nirvana.
And not just that - that he was also not even the original drummer in Nirvana. In fact, Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic went through no less than five drummers before settling on Grohl.
Now, Rolling Stone have unearthed footage of the charismatic drummer's first-ever gig with Nirvana in 1990, when they played the North Shore Surf Club in Olympia, Washington.
Grohl was 21 at the time and Cobain was 23, and the band had been together for three years before Grohl's previous band Scream split.
