If he hadn't passed away in January 2016, you might have seen David Bowie gracing the silver screen in a blockbuster this summer.
Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn previously revealed that he had made contact with Bowie's camp to see about the possibility of him making a cameo in the sequel to the smash hit film, but in a Facebook Live Q&A yesterday, he revealed exactly what role he had in mind.
"It would have been as one of the Ravagers, along with Michelle Yeoh and Ving Rhames and Sylvester Stallone and Michael Rosenbaum," he said, "but, unfortunately, David Bowie passed away."
If you've seen the film, you'll be aware that the Ravagers are Gunn's version of the original Guardians from the Marvel Comics.
As was recently revealed, Bowie was also up for Jared Leto's role in the new Blade Runner film .
