Last night Beyonce amazed fans when she rocked up to the BET awards for a surprise opening performance - rumours were sparked when her dancers walked the red carpet - of Freedom alongside Kendrick Lamar.
In a performance that would probably rival what those at Coldplay's Glastonbury gig witnessed, the Drunk in Love star literally walked on water and danced through fire. It was an incredibly rousing performance and just another reminder of how talented and influential the likes of Beyonce and Kendrick Lamar have become. Also, given that we weren't there ourselves, this was one occasion where the fact that people are still allowed to whip out their phones at gigs is a good thing:

The audience at the awards lost their minds while at the same time Twitter was going bananas in support of Bey. If we were ever unsure of why the word 'slay' is so strongly associated with Beyonce, this pretty much clears it up.

Beyonce also scooped the video of the year award for Formation.
SLAY, Bey. SLAY.
