The Irish musicians have joined forces on the festive classic

It's that time of year again - and considering Christmas songs have been all over the airwaves and in shops already, there's no shame in playing the odd festive tune.

And this cover of a Christmas classic by two of our finest musicians is a good way to kick off your festive listening spree.

Villagers' main man Conor O'Brien has been joined by Lisa Hannigan for a new cover of 'The Little Drummer Boy' - a song famously covered by many over the years, but most notably David Bowie and Bing Crosby.

"Since I was a little boy this song by Katherine Kennicott Davis has captured my imagination more than any other Christmas carol," said O'Brien. "Such a dream to perform it alongside the incomparable voice of Lisa Hannigan.”
