The official launch for Burdoran's surf and music festival Sea Sessions took place yesterday evening in Solas on Wexford St. Apart from the customary speeches, free Bavaria, barbeque chicken wings, platters of mussels and one fairly transparent magician, there was the usual selection of minor Irish celebrities – Xposé's Sean Munsanje, 2fm's Jenny Houston, people like that –hobnobbing amongst the rest of us regular folk. But wait, what's this? A real star? Low and behold, TV On The Radio's Kyp Malone. You really couldn't miss him, what with his most impressive and recognisable beard. Malone had been in Dublin to play a gig with his solo side project Rain Machine last week. The only reasonable explanation for him turning up to such a low key event is that he's still stranded here after all the kerfuffle with flights this week and had nothing better to do. Head over to Caught Out too see pictures from the launch.
