The British producer was known for his work with Primal Scream and many others
Fans, colleagues and friends of Andrew Weatherall have been paying tribute to the influential producer and DJ since news of his death broke yesterday.
Weatherall, who was known for his production and remix work with many indie bands including Happy Mondays, New Order and Primal Scream (he produced their genre-defining album 'Screamadelica'), died of a pulmonary embolism. He was 56.
People have been sharing their memories of him on social media, and the general feeling seems to be that music has lost one of the Good Guys.

"I'm not a tortured soul or anything. All the things I hold dear you could file under, 'Don't be a knobhead!’ Just go about your life and try and be nice to people. We're in an arseholes-are-winning phase at the moment. But the balance will be redressed..."

Absolutely distraught to hear this terrible news. Andrew was a longtime friend, collaborator and one of most talented persons I’ve known. Also one of the nicest. Genius is an overworked term but I’m struggling to think of anything else that defines him. https://t.co/nWlyE75bL5

So sad to hear about Andrew Weatherall. I was only listening to his mix of ‘World in Motion’ in the gym this morning and thinking how amazing it was. I worked with him many times - he was a truly nice, kind man who shared many, many words of wisdom. RIP. X

So saddened at the death of #AndrewWeatherall today. I am blessed to have made music with him - his remix of 'Henry McCullough' by David Holmes & I is a stormer & his dub mix thumps majestically. Andrew, God bless you. And thank you. You were a beautiful & much-loved man. pic.twitter.com/1UEq6e8X5L
