Once, the musical based on the small Irish film production of the same name, is coming to Dublin's Gaiety Theatre for its European premiere. The musical enjoyed a spectacularly successful run on Broadway and picked up an incredible eight Tony Awards, including the much coveted 'Best Musical' gong. It also picked up the award for 'Best Director'.
Once has also been named as 'Best Musical' by the likes of the New York Drama Critics Circle and the Lucille Lortel Awards, while the motion picture Once bagged its star Glen Hansard an Academy Award for 'Best Song' for 'Falling Slowly', making it one of the most critically successful Irish productions of recent times.
The musical debuted in the American Repertory Theatre in April 2011 and went on to break box office records during its hugely successful run.
Once will play in the Gaiety Theatre from 22nd February to 9th March. Tickets will be priced between €49.50 and €21.50 and go on sale on Friday 19th October.
