The nominations for the MTV EMAs have just been made public, and people have noticed something a little odd about one name on the list.
Last week, The Weeknd unleashed his new collaboration with Daft Punk, called 'Starboy', and by all accounts it's been well-received and played quite a bit on radio, etc.
The problem is, the song is up for an EMA for 'Best Video' - but the video has not been released.
As Uproxx points out, most categories are voted for by the public, but 'Best Video' is decided by a 'panel'. Which is not suspicious IN THE SLIGHTEST. Oh no.
In other words, it makes a bit of a sham of the whole thing, which folks on Twitter aren't shy about pointing out:
The Weeknd is already nominated for an EMA for best music video and his music video isn't even out yet 😛

How is The Weeknd nominated for a MTV EMA for Best Video when there is no video for Starboy yet?

Apparently the video is set to drop later today, so we'll see what the fuss is about then.
