It’s 50 years since the Queen of Soul signed to Atlantic Records and to celebrate, record label Rhino are releasing a very special new album.
A Brand New Me: Aretha Franklin With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra pairs Franklin’s instantly recognizable vocals with orchestral arrangements.
Among the standout tracks are newly re-imagined versions of classics like “Respect” (which you can hear below) “Think,” “Don’t Play That Song (You Lied),” and “Angel.”
It was recorded at the famous Abbey Road studios in London and features backing vocals from Grammy award winning artist Patty Austin.
