Sad news this morning as it's emerged that Prodigy frontman Keith Flint has died. The singer was reportedly found dead in his Essex home in circumstances that are not currently being treated as suspicious.
An Essex Police spokesman told The Sun: "We were called to concerns for the welfare of a man at an address in Brook Hill, North End, just after 8.10am on Monday
"We attended and, sadly, a 49-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
Flint was originally a dancer with the hugely popular rave group Prodigy and went on to take the lead, most notably on their best-known singles 'Firestarter' and 'Breathe', which both went to No 1.
While at their peak in the nineties, The Prodigy continued to perform together with their seventh studio album, 'No Tourists', released just last November.
It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint. A true pioneer, innovator and legend. He will be forever missed.
We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time. pic.twitter.com/nQ3Ictjj7t— The Prodigy (@the_prodigy) March 4, 2019

I just heard, and I am heartbroken. Once the most innovative, fearless, ballsy bands to grace a stage and Keith was perfection up front. We have lost a Titan. 💔 #KeithFlint #Prodigy https://t.co/YJ8knnPi1V

We are so saddened to hear about the passing of Keith Flint. He’s played here so many times with the Prodigy and was booked for 2019. What an incredible frontman. Here’s a clip from ‘97 when they were the first dance band to headline Glastonbury - a huge, unforgettable moment. pic.twitter.com/9fxKBonfVa

So sad about Keith Flint. I gave birth to my eldest son accompanied by 'firestarter' playing away because my husband had in a mad panic, picked up the wrong tape. And instead of giving birth to Enya and ocean sounds it was The Prodigy. I don't regret it either.

Jesus that's sad news. Keith Flint was one hell of a performer and you could never imagine The Prodigy without him. RIP.

Dunno if there was a more 'Ireland's Top 30 Hits' tune than 'Breathe' by The Prodigy
