Brandon Flowers and co. played six nights at London's O2
Unless you've been living under a rock - and especially if you follow anyone English on social media - you'll be aware that a pretty big football match took place last night.
Indeed, our neighbours England beat the Netherlands with a dramatic last-gasp winner to go through to Sunday's Euro 2024 final, where they will play Spain.
The match coincided with a gig at London's O2 Arena, where The Killers have been playing a six-night run on their 'Rebel Diamonds' Greatest Hits tour.
True to form as consummate showmen - and knowing that half of the crowd were probably keeping a close eye on their phones, anyway - the Las Vegas band had the wherewithal to pause the gig and livestreamed the last few minutes of the match on the arena's giant screen.
They then broke into 'Mr. Brightside' as the audience erupted with joy as the final whistle was blown.
The band's Irish lighting tech, Steven Douglas, was on hand to capture the moment from the desk:
We interrupt tonight’s show to bring you the end of the football………
Well done to the crew for the quick pivot on setlist, video, audio and confetti too to make a great moment pic.twitter.com/LHG07rzRrq— Steven Douglas (@stevenontour) July 10, 2024

Possibly the most electric moment of my life. When the Killers livestream the Euros right before England win and they hit us with Mr Brightside. pic.twitter.com/7Hlk4RN19V
