Over 100,000 of you had your voices heard and now the results are in! Voting across sixteen categories in The Erics closed last week and the results in Best Irish Act and Best Irish Festival are in. Let's have a gander, shall we?
Don't forget, The Eric takes place tonight in the Button Factory with performances from Le Galaxie, O Emperor, Gavin James and Cave Ghosts. The last remaining tickets are available for €12 by clicking the button below.
It was a tight affair at the top of the Best Irish Act category but The Script's substantial online support was enough for them to pip Kodaline into second place. Danny O'Donoghue and the boys garnered a pretty healthy 38% of the vote, with Kodaline just behind them with 33% of the vote. Delorentos came in third place with The Strypes and Le Galaxie making up the rest of the top five.
The Best Irish Festival category was topped by Big House Festival, a multi-faceted caranival of music, film, culture and more at Castletown House in Kildare. The 2013 iteration of the festival featured musical performances from the likes of Jerry Fish, Jack L and Julie Feeney but it was the mixture of various forms of creative expression and imagination which captured the public's imagination so diligently.
Electric Picnic was Ireland's second favourite festival of the year, with new kid on the block Longitude in third place. Forbidden Fruit and the returning Oxegen made up the remainder of the top five.
For the first time, The Erics will honour two Editor's Choice awards outside of the public vote to people who we feel are at the absolute top of their game.
The first, for Best Live Act in Ireland, will go to Le Galaxie while the Rising Star Award will go to Gavin James - both of whom will be on hand on the night to collect their awards and play full live sets.
See yis there tonight folks!
