They'll play the Olympia Theatre in December
It's hard to believe that it's been 20 years since The Darkness released their debut album.
However, two full decades have indeed passed since 'Permission to Land' was unleashed upon the world - and to celebrate, Justin Hawkins and his bandmates are embarking on an anniversary tour.
The 'I Believe in a Thing Called Love' hitmakers will play Dublin's 3Olympia Theatre on December 3rd, announcing the tour with a message that read:
“When Permission to Land landed, twenty short years ago, we were bathed in shock and awe. As if by magic, Rock wasn’t dead! Fun wasn’t banned! And Spandex was almost acceptable again…
"Well, guess what? Twenty years on, the same rules apply. So please to squeeze yourselves into those inappropriate leggings, back-comb your mullet, splash on a big handful of attitude, and come celebrate with us! We promise everything and we deliver, every time. Bring on the next twenty!"
Tickets for the Dublin date are from €38 including booking fees, and on sale this Friday, July 7th from 9am.
