Taylor Swift is definitely NOT joining Lady Gaga at the Super Bowl halftime show in Texas next February - largely because, as Uproxx points out, she is a spokesperson for Coke and the halftime show is a Pepsi-sponsored endeavour.
However, it has been announced that Swift will play a big show in Houston, Texas on the night before the Super Bowl, as part of her new deal with mobile telecommunications company AT&T, who sponsor a pre-show event for DirectTV.
It seems that Swifty has signed quite the deal with AT&T according to their statement, leading fans to speculate that new music MUST be on the horizon at this point....
"AT&T signed a major, exclusive multi-year, multi-faceted deal featuring performances and content with 10-time Grammy award-winning singer, songwriter, musician, and producer Taylor Swift," the statement read. "As part of the deal with AT&T, Taylor Swift will headline AT&T DIRECTV Super Saturday Night in Houston the night before the Big Game. This is the 12th DIRECTV event leading up to the biggest sporting event of the year, and the first time Taylor Swift will perform during the festivities.”
Swift's last album, 1989, was released in October 2014 - and as she's been reasonably quiet over the last few months, we can assume that she's been putting the finishing touches to the record.
In other words, we'll soon find out for sure whether that the whole Hiddleswift silliness was a mere publicity stunt for her sixth record...
