Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz were involved in accident two weeks ago
Talking Heads members Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz were involved in a serious car accident according to a Facebook post from Frantz.
Frantz and his wife Weymouth were travelling in their car when a drunk driver "on the wrong side of the road" collided head-on with the car they occupied.
Frantz revealed that Weymouth suffered "three fractured ribs and a fractured sternum."
"She’s been in a lot of pain but she will get better with time," he said.
He added "I give thanks to our guardian angels and to the Ford Motor Company for building a car that protected us from getting killed."
Per Pitchfork, a representative for Weymouth said that she was “a bit banged up in the accident but is resting and doing well."
"With the type of injury she had, rest is a key part of the recovery process, Chris is taking good care of her," the representative said.
Weymouth served as bassist for Talking Heads while Frantz played the drums for the seminal new wave band, who boast 'Burning Down The House', Once In A Lifetime', and 'Psycho Killer' as major hits.
The pair married in 1977, the same year Talking Heads came to prominence with their album 'Talking Heads: 77'.
Talking Heads were one of the biggest cult groups of the 1980s, and their reputation has only grown through the years, with the band inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2002.
The group released their final album with frontman David Byrne in 1988, before disbanding in 1991.
