Is J-Biebs getting a little weary of the music business at the ripe old age of 19? It would appear so, if there's any substance to the quote he gave to Americas' Power 106 radio yesterday morning.
When asked by the host about his plans for the future, the deadpan Canadian crushed the hearts of a million teenage girls in an instant by saying, "Um, I'm actually retiring, man." But, when pressed for comment afterwards, his management declined to confirm or deny the news but then a "source" close to Bieber claimed that there was no truth to the rumours.
Can there be smoke without fire? Well, in this case yes as it was reported by X17Online that Biebs arrived for his interview at Power 106 in (and we quote here) "a giant cloud of suspicious smoke" which billowed out of his car.
In his interview with the radio station, Bieber did address recent allegations that he's recently garnered a reputation as a bit of a bad boy.
"People think I'm arrogant", he said. "I'm not, I've always been a caring and giving person. I'm here solely for my fans and for the music". Is that a statement of someone who sounds like they might retire? How and ever, we digress...
"I got to the point where I thought, 'I don't want to do this. I just want to be normal.'", adding that he phoned up his buddy Usher for advice.
"Usher was like, 'prepare to have this for the rest of your career because it's not going to stop.' He's gone through some stuff and most artists go through their fair share of bull. That was just my first time."
So he wants to be 'normal', as he puts it. But then, in his next sentence, boasts about calling upon the sage-like advice of Usher Raymond at a moment's notice.
Oh, and does this look like someone who wants to be normal?
Justin Bieber is not retiring. You'll be seeing a LOT more of him in future, whether you like it or not.
