Paul McCartney, Sheryl Crow and more will play 'Ringo's Big Birthday Show'
Like many people celebrating a significant birthday in 2020, Ringo Starr will be missing the chance to celebrate in person with his pals.
The Beatles drummer turns 80 on July 7th, and while he won't get the opportunity to throw a birthday bash, his friends and colleagues are planning something special.
'Ringo’s Big Birthday Show' is a livestream event that'll kick off at midnight next Tuesday, July 7th (technically the early hours of July 8th for people in Ireland) and will feature some huge names playing songs and helping to usher in Ringo's eighth decade.
Of course, his former bandmate Paul McCartney will take part, as well as Sheryl Crow, Ben Harper, Joe Walsh (The Eagles), Sheila E and more. It won't cost you anything to watch, but donations are encouraged and will be split between various charities.
There'll also be a premiere of the group cover version of Starr's song 'Give More Love', featuring everyone from Jeff Bridges to Elvis Costello to Kenny Loggins.
Starr said in a press release: “As everyone knows, I love gathering with fans for peace and love on my birthday. But this year, I want everyone to be safe at home — so I called up a few friends and we put this Big Birthday Show together so we could still celebrate my birthday with you all, with some great music, and for some great charities.
"I hope you will all join me! Peace and Love, Ringo."
