Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas is to release his first solo album. The singer told NME.com that he is currently finishing recorded the album and is hoping to release it in the Autumn. 'Phrazes For The Young' was produced by Rilo Kiley and Maroon 5 producer Jason Lader with help from Bright Eyes band member and Monster of Folk Mike Mogis.

Meanwhile, another frontman getting ready for his first solo album is Alec Ounsworth of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. His main band are currently taking a 'break' leaving Ounsworth with plenty of time to record his own solo material. His band consists of the Meters' George Porter Jr., Stanton Moore of Galactic, Al 'Carnival Time' Johnson and Robert Walter of Greyboy Allstars. 'Mo Beauty' is to be released on October 20th on Anti- Records in the U.S.
