Derry teenager SOAK has signed a much-deserved publishing deal with Universal.
The singer-songwriter first came to our attention in advance of December's Other Voices in Dingle where her performance (including her magnetic stage presence) came across wonderfully.
SOAK, whose real name is Bridie Monds-Watson, released her debut EP in March of last year and now, less than twelve months later, finds herself with major publishing deal.
Speaking of the news on her Facebook page, she said: "I recently made the biggest decision in my career. After many months of label talk and contracts I have finally signed a publishing deal with UNIVERSAL! I am really excited to work with universal and continue my career, this is awesome, spread the word! Thank you for your on going support!"
SOAK is nominated for the Choice Music Prize Song of the Year award next Thursday in Vicar Street.
