After My Chemical Romance's recent sudden split the band's lead singer Gerard Way has taken to social media to offer fans an explanation as to why he dissolved the group. A very, very long explanation.

The message, which racked in at just under two thousand words, contained a litany of stream of consciousness writing, describing a trapped bird in his house, before going on to call My Chemical Romance "spectacular" and that it's in his character to be "abstract, hidden in plain sight".

He was also quite effusive with praise for his band. "There were some clunkers, sometimes our secondhand gear broke, sometimes I had no voice - we were still great. And all of the things that made us great were the very things that were going to end us - Fiction. Friction. Creation. Destruction. Opposition. Aggression. Ambition. Heart. Hate. Courage. Spite. Beauty. Desperation. LOVE. Fear. Glamour. Weakness. Hope. Fatalism."

Way continues by saying that he felt that he had been "hollowed out" and "de-saturated" in the band.

"My Chemical Romance is finished", he closed the note by saying. "But it can never die."

Riiiiight.
