Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis is reportedly trying to tempt The Rolling Stones into performing at next year's Glastonbury festival, according to reports in the weekend press - a gig which may be their last.

Mick Jagger and co. are set to be offered the much sought after Sunday night headline slot on the Pyramid Stage to the festival which attracts some 175,000 punters. The show would be one of only a handful of shows to take place next year.

The Stones were due to tour this year to celebrate their 50th anniversary as a band but the idea was shelved when it was realised that the band were underprepared because of Keith Richards' ill health. Many commentators are suggesting that this may be the last gig that the band, who have a combined age of 268, will ever play together.
