The Pink Floyd man hit out at the Canadian acts in a new interview
Roger Waters is a musician who has never been afraid to speak his mind - whatever the consequences.
However, it seems that he has inadvertently started a beef with two of the biggest acts on the planet with no provocation whatsoever.
The Pink Floyd man was taking part in an interview with Canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail, when he took umbrage with the fact that they had not reviewed his recent gigs in Toronto.
The interviewer told him that The Weeknd - a native of Toronto - was due to kick off his 'After Hours Til Dawn' tour on the same night, to which Waters responded: " “I have no idea what or who the Weeknd is, because I don’t listen to much music. People have told me he’s a big act. Well, good luck to him. I’ve got nothing against him. Would it not have been possible to review his show one night and my show another night?"
He added: "I’m not trying to make a personal attack. I’m just saying it seemed odd. And, by the way, with all due respect to the Weeknd or Drake or any of them, I am far, far, far more important than any of them will ever be, however many billions of streams they’ve got. There is stuff going on here that is fundamentally important to all of our lives."
Waters has been a vocal opponent of Israel and has held various other strong political beliefs over the years, including calling US president Joe Biden a "f**king slimeball' and mocking former president Donald Trump in images during his gigs.
So far, neither Drake nor The Weeknd have responded to his tirade...
