Much thanks is due to the musicians and loyal music fans of Dublin who've made it possible for the city's favourite independent music shop, Road Records, to stay in business during these horribly miserable financial times. The much documental sold out fundraiser at Andrew's Lane Theatre last month has given Road Records a new lease of life, and lets hope they stay doing what they do best, promoting independent music, for many years to come.
With superb timing, Road Records are re-launching this Saturday April 18th to coincide with International Record Store Day. They've restocked the shelves and organised some great Irish acts to play in store on the day:
Saturday 18 April: Acoustic In-Store performances:
12.00 PAUL NOONAN (Bell X1) & LISA HANNIGAN
13.30 CONOR O’BRIEN (Villagers)
15.00 NEIL HANNON (The Divine Comedy)
17.00 JAPE
They've also pressed up 100 limited edition copies of an Irish compilation CD, each hand numbered and including an exclusive photographic print. This will be the first time any of the tracks have been made available on CD, while 14 of the tracks have never been released on any format before. Check out the tracklist below. A steal at just €10!
The track listing is as follows:
01 Villagers - Home (early demo)
02 Large Mound - Rubbish Coffee
03 Halfset - Body Clock
04 Dinah Brand - Go Inside
05 Legion of Two - Swan Song
