The guitarist shared an update with fans on Instagram after posting a picture of himself in a face mask
He lived through a fairly hedonistic phase of the rock scene, so you'd expect Brian May to be fairly battle-hardened by this stage.
It turns out that the Queen guitarist has an Achilles Heel, however - and it's not one you might expect.
The 72-year-old took to Instagram to share a photo of himself in hospital with a face mask. Instead of the obvious assumption that most would make, he was not there to be treated for the virus - but rather because he had been gardening too hard.
"I managed to rip my Gluteus Maximus to shreds in a moment of over-enthusiastic gardening," he wrote. "Turns out I did a thorough job - this is a couple of days ago - and I won’t be able to walk for a while ... or sleep, without a lot of assistance, because the pain is relentless."
In case you were wondering, the glutes are the three muscles that make up the buttocks.
