After a report in TMZ claimed that tonight's half-time Superbowl show would feature Justin Timberlake performing with a hologram of Prince, the estate of the recently-deceased singer have denied the allegations.

Although he was a part of one of the greatest half-time shows in history - HE LITERALLY PLAYED PURPLE RAIN IN THE RAIN, PEOPLE - and the fact that the Superbowl is taking place in his home state of Minnesota, Prince was adamant during his life about the use of holograms and it seems like his estate is honouring this.

In an interview with Guitar World in 1998, Prince described the use of holograms as "the most demonic thing imaginable."

"Everything is as it is, and it should be. If I was meant to jam with Duke Ellington, we would have lived in the same age. That whole virtual reality thing... it really is demonic."

On top of all that, Prince wasn't much of a fan of Justin Timberlake's, and made pointed referenced to him in a derisive manner at an Emmy's afterparty. Just for even more proof that this is the last thing that Prince would have wanted, Sheila E. - that's Prince's famous drummer - took to Twitter to add her two cents to the whole thing.

So, yeah, no Prince hologram. As it should be.
