A 16-year-old Australian Pink fan has landed in hot water after a tweet he wrote in anticipation of a concert by the American pop star, in which he claimed she was going to bomb the arena.
The teen is now facing criminal charges after being kicked out of the Rod Laver Arena on Sunday, after tweeting: "@Pink I'm ready with my Bomb. Time to blowup #RodLaverArena Bitch". The venue security saw the tweet and recognised the teen from his Twitter avatar picture only ten minutes after he entered the venue.
After his arrest, the Pink fan told the police that - yep, you guessed it - he was actually talking about Pink's song 'Timebomb'. Speaking to local press, the teenager said that his tweet was taken in the wrong context and was actually about how he wanted Pink to "drop the effects, the music, everything - just drop it all" and that he wasn't, in fact, making a terrorist threat.
Pink hasn't yet commented on the issue, nor will she we expect.
What do you think? Is it justified to be liable for arrest for something you write on social media, even if it's taken out of context? Sound off, music fans..
