The Dublin quartet have signed with the legendary US record label behind Soundgarden, Sonic Youth, and Sleater-Kinney.
It's safe to say that while last year was a big one for Pillow Queens, this year's already going to be bigger.
Fresh off their US television debut only a few short weeks ago, the Dublin quartet have now signed a deal with Sub Pop, the same record label that first signed the likes of Nirvana, Soundgarden, and would later go on to represent acts as diverse as Father John Misty, Sonic Youth, Sleater-Kinney, and Flight of the Conchords.
Here's the tweet announcing the deal.
Very excited to announce that we’ve just signed a deal with Sub Pop Publishing. We’re over the moon that our album is getting recognition we couldn’t have even dreamed of when we decided to self release during a pandemic but we’re really feeling the love. Thank you! pic.twitter.com/iQ2TMvvIdi

So far, it's not clear if Sub Pop will be releasing their debut album, 'In Waiting', or if there's another album in the works. Either way, it's all great news for such a talented homegrown act and proof that good things can happen to decent people every once in a while.
Here's Pillow Queens performing 'Liffey' on US television a few weeks back.
