The Queen guitarist, who has been in the headlines in recent months for complaining about the view from his British Airways' first class seat, posted a picture of himself to the social media platform.
However, he forgot to tag/credit the photographer and the image was reported to Instagram by the irate snapper, who suspended May's entire account while the situation was being resolved.
